Scooter driver and his 9-year-old passenger injured in Lviv region as a result of road accident – police establishing circumstances
It has been established that the scooterist was driving the vehicle in a state of intoxication.
The accident occurred on 29 August, around 22.20, in the village of Pidluby, Yavoriv district.
Law enforcement officers have preliminarily established that the driver of a Fada YB150-15D scooter, a 37-year-old resident of the district, lost control and drove into a ditch.
As a result of the accident, the scooter driver and his passenger, a 9-year-old local resident, were injured and taken to medical facilities.
It was established that the driver was driving the scooter while intoxicated.
Investigators of the Yavoriv District Police Department opened criminal proceedings over the incident under Part 1 of Article 286-1 (Violation of the rules of road safety or operation of transport by persons driving vehicles while intoxicated) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The article provides for imprisonment for up to three years with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a term of three to five years.
Law enforcement officers are establishing all the circumstances of the incident.
