A motorcyclist was killed in a collision with a minibus in the Lviv region – police are investigating the circumstances of the incident.
The traffic accident occurred on September 18, at around 19:20, on the road “Zhornyska-Karachyniv” near the village of Vorotsiv in Yavoriv district. Preliminary investigations by law enforcement revealed that a collision took place between a Honda RCX motorcycle, driven by a 50-year-old resident of the district, and a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter minibus, driven by a 39-year-old resident of one of the villages in Yavoriv district. The motorcyclist died at the scene from injuries sustained in the accident.
Investigators from the transport crime investigation department of the Lviv region police have opened a criminal case under part 2 of article 286 (Violation of traffic safety rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The article stipulates a punishment of imprisonment for a term of three to eight years with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for up to three years or without such deprivation. The police are establishing the circumstances of the event.
