A military officer in Transcarpathia was selling routes for illegal border crossing in exchange for cryptocurrency.
The military officer from one of the special law enforcement agencies in Transcarpathia used official information for personal gain. He accepted payment for his “services” in cryptocurrency to avoid detection. The “client” was offered a file with coordinates and a detailed route explaining how to bypass border patrols for 2,000 US dollars.
To avoid leaving evidence, communication was conducted through a messenger, and the received funds were transferred to another wallet on a well-known cryptocurrency exchange. The military officer was detained and charged under Part 3 of Article 332 and Part 1 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The court will soon choose a preventive measure for him. **Procedural supervision** is performed by the Transcarpathian Specialized Prosecutor’s Office in the defense sphere of the Western region.
