Organizers of Illegal Crossing Exposed in Zakarpattia

Individuals organizing illegal crossings via the Tisza were apprehended in Zakarpattia.

According to the investigation, a serviceman together with a civilian accomplice devised a scheme to illegally cross the border into Hungary for conscripts. They determined the place and time of the crossing, collected money from those wishing to leave, and arranged a nighttime boat crossing over the Tisza River.

The cost of such a ‘route’ was 3,000 USD per person: part of the funds were transferred to a bank card, while the rest was handed over in cash to one of the accomplices.

*The accomplices were caught while attempting to ferry three ‘clients’ for 9,000 USD.* Administrative protocols were drawn up against the men attempting to illegally leave the country. The traffickers have been notified of suspicion under Part 3 of Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Soon, the court will determine their preventive measures.

Prosecutorial oversight is provided by the Zakarpattia Specialized Defense Prosecutor’s Office of the Western Region.
