
The death of a father and two children in the Zolochiv district of Lviv region is under investigation
The Lviv Regional Police reported an incident in the village of Stanislavchik, Zolochiv District. On 15 February, at around 9:25 p.m., a report was received about shots fired in a house. The bodies of a 42-year-old local resident and his two children, aged 13 and 15, were found at the scene.
According to preliminary information from law enforcement, the man used a hunting weapon against the children. He then died. The final conclusions will be provided by investigators and experts.
An investigative team, forensic experts and other services are working at the scene. The police have launched criminal proceedings under Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The report also states that the incident has been classified as a suicide.
The proceedings are being conducted by the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office. Law enforcement officers are conducting a pre-trial investigation. They are establishing all the circumstances of the incident.
The head of the Lviv Regional Military Administration, Maksym Kozytskyi, provided an update as of 23:00 on 15 February. According to him, data as of 22:45 confirmed the death of two children and their father. He also noted that the local child welfare service described the family as well-off, with no record in social services.
