In Zolochiv district, bomb disposal experts destroy Second World War mortar shell

In a field near the village of Zalissia in Zolochiv district, an 82 mm mortar shell dating back to the Second World War was discovered during earthworks. The explosive was removed and destroyed by bomb disposal experts from the Lviv Mobile Rapid Response Rescue Centre of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.

Rescuers remind the public that shells, mines and grenades left over from past wars remain dangerous even decades later.

If you discover a suspicious object, you must move away to a safe distance and immediately call the Rescue Service on 101. Only specialists are authorised to deal with explosive devices.
