Under the procedural supervision of the Zolochiv District Prosecutor’s Office, a group of people was exposed and served a notice of suspicion of purchasing, storing with intent to sell and selling narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances (Part 1, 2 Art. 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
According to the investigation, over the course of a year, a group of people, including two local residents, organised the sale of amphetamine and cannabis in Brody.
The sale of psychotropic and narcotic substances was carried out by prior arrangement with “clients” by phone. The “goods” were transferred at a meeting, directly “from hand to hand”, at their place of residence or on neutral territory.
Law enforcement officers detained the suspects in accordance with Art. 208 of the CPC of Ukraine – after another sale of amphetamine.
During the searches of the men’s residences, law enforcement officers found and seized prohibited substances, tools and devices for their manufacture, packaging materials, scales, cash, mobile phones and other material evidence.
The issue of choosing a measure of restraint is being decided.
The investigative actions are ongoing. All involved persons are being identified.
The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by the Zolochiv District Police Department No. 1 of the Main Department of the National Police in Lviv region with the operational support of the Security Service of Ukraine in Lviv region.
Note: In accordance with Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person shall be presumed innocent of committing a crime and shall not be subjected to criminal punishment until his or her guilt is proved in accordance with the law and established by a court verdict of guilty.
