The passenger of the car died at the scene from injuries received as a result of the accident
As the law enforcement officers established, on August 2, around 1:00 p.m., between the villages of Stovpin and Bolozhyniv of the Zolochiv district, the driver of the BMW 320D, a 37-year-old resident of the Zolochiv district, being in a state of alcohol intoxication, lost control, drove into a ditch and drove into a tree.
The passenger of the car, a 37-year-old resident of the area, died of his injuries at the scene.
The pre-trial investigation under Part 3 of Article 286-1 (Violation of the rules of road traffic safety or operation of transport by persons who drive vehicles while intoxicated, which caused the death of the victim) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine has been completed, the indictment has been referred to the court.
For the crime committed, the accused is liable to imprisonment for a term of five to ten years with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a term of five to ten years.
