The traffic accident occurred on December 25 at 10:20 p.m. on the Kyii-Chop highway within the village of Sukhodoly, Zolochiv district.
As previously established by the law enforcement officers, the driver of the “MAN” truck, a 44-year-old resident of the Poltava region, hit a cyclist, a 43-year-old resident of one of the villages of the district. As a result of the collision, the cyclist received injuries from which he died at the scene.
According to the fact, the investigators of the Department of Investigation of Crimes in the Field of Transport of the Lviv Oblast Police opened criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Article 286 (Violation of Traffic Safety Rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a period of three to eight years with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a period of up to three years or without it.
An investigation is underway, law enforcement officers are establishing the circumstances of the incident.
