In the Zolochiv region, the prosecution is demanding compensation for damages caused by illegal logging. Prosecutors from the Zolochiv District Prosecutor’s Office have filed claims against permanent forest users for nearly 500,000 UAH.
It has been established that forest protection staff failed to ensure proper forest security, leading to the illegal felling of 22 trees of various species, including pine, oak, hornbeam, and linden. Violations were recorded within the Berlin, Leshniv, and Zozuliv forestry areas, as well as the Brody master section.
As a result of these actions, territorial communities have suffered damage amounting to approximately half a million hryvnias. The Commercial Court of Lviv Region has initiated proceedings, and the court hearing is ongoing.
