In the village of Zabolottsi in Zolochiv district, a fire broke out in outbuildings, during which firefighters prevented three residential houses from being destroyed. The report of the blaze was received on 20 August at 17:24.
The fire started in a wooden outbuilding which, by the time firefighters arrived, was already burning across its entire area. Household items were also on fire in a separate brick garage over an area of 20 sq. m, as well as the roof structure of a wooden woodshed over an area of 8 sq. m.
Before the fire service arrived, neighbours tried to extinguish the flames themselves using buckets of water. Because of the dense development, there was a real risk of the fire spreading to neighbouring structures, and the flames could have spread further very quickly.
The fire was contained at 18:40 and fully extinguished at 19:46. Thanks to the swift actions of the firefighters, three residential houses, a garage and a woodshed were saved.
Firefighters from the village of Zabolottsi and the settlement of Olesko were involved in extinguishing the blaze. No one was injured as a result of the incident. Specialists are establishing the cause of the fire.
