Near the village of Luka in Zolochiv district, a road traffic collision occurred in which the motorcycle rider and his 8-year-old passenger were injured. The police reported this.
The collision happened on 2 August at around 20:00. According to preliminary police information, the 40-year-old rider of a Spark motorcycle lost control, causing the vehicle to fall.
As a result of the collision, the rider and an 8-year-old boy who was travelling as a passenger sustained bodily injuries. Both casualties were taken to hospital.
Investigators from the Zolochiv district police department have opened criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violation of road safety rules). The article provides for a penalty of up to three years’ restriction of liberty with disqualification from driving vehicles for up to three years.
Law enforcement officers are establishing all the circumstances of the incident.
