
On the “Kyiv-Chop” motorway near the village of Staryi Myliatyn in Zolochiv district, a road traffic collision occurred in which two underage motorcyclists were injured. The incident took place on 2 August at around 19:25.
According to preliminary information from law enforcement officers, a Peugeot 2008 driven by a 39-year-old woman from Lviv district collided with a Spark SP 250-R motorcycle ridden by a 16-year-old resident of Lviv district. Following the impact, the motorcycle, propelled by inertia, collided with another motorcycle, a Shineray VXR300, which was also being ridden by a 16-year-old resident of Lviv district.
As a result of the crash, both underage motorcyclists sustained bodily injuries and were taken to hospital.
Investigators from Police Station No. 2 of the Zolochiv District Police Department have opened criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violation of road traffic safety rules). The article provides for a penalty of up to three years’ restriction of liberty with disqualification from driving vehicles for up to three years.
Law enforcement officers are establishing all the circumstances of the incident.
