According to the public indictment of the prosecutors of the Zolochiv district prosecutor’s office, a 39-year-old resident of Brody was found guilty of illegal sale of narcotic drugs and of providing premises for the manufacture and use of narcotic drugs (parts 1, 2 of article 307, part 1, 2 of article 317 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) .
He was sentenced to 6 years in prison with confiscation of property.
Prosecutors proved in court that during June-July 2023 in Brody, he sold “Bupren” tablets, which contain the narcotic buprenorphine, at his place of residence. Since the man was a drug addict, he was registered with a narcologist. Therefore, he had the opportunity to receive a narcotic drug free of charge under the program “Substitute Supportive Therapy”.
In addition, the defendant repeatedly provided the premises of his apartment to other drug addicts for the manufacture of a solution of narcotic substances and its subsequent injection use.
The man will be in custody until the verdict becomes final.
