
A woman was injured as a result of a car accident in the Lviv region — police are investigating the circumstances.
The road accident occurred on August 22 around 14:20 in the town of Bibrka, Lviv district. Preliminary findings by law enforcement indicate that the driver of a VAZ-21063 vehicle, a 30-year-old resident of the city of Kolomyia, Ivano-Frankivsk region, hit a 62-year-old local woman who was crossing the road.
As a result of the collision, the woman sustained bodily injuries and was taken to the hospital. Police investigators from police division No. 2 of the Lviv district police department No. 2 have opened a criminal case under Part 1 of Article 286 (Violation of road safety rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The maximum penalty provided by the article’s sanctions is imprisonment for up to three years, with the deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for up to three years. Police are determining the circumstances of the incident.
