Under the procedural leadership of the Zhovkiv district prosecutor’s office, an indictment against two residents of Lviv was sent to the court. They are accused of a completed attempt to intentionally damage someone else’s property (Part 2 of Article 28, Part 2 of Article 15, Part 2 of Article 194 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The investigation established that in March of this year, in one of the villages of the Lviv district, the accused set fire to the vehicle of a 24-year-old woman.
That evening, the men came to the house where the victim lived with her family.
One of the people involved stayed in the car and kept an eye on the surrounding situation.
At that time, his accomplice took a previously prepared glass bottle with an incendiary mixture and quietly approached the yard. On the spot, he set her on fire and threw her through the gate under a car.
After the crime, they fled from the scene.
The purpose of the arson was to intimidate the owner of the car.
However, the victim’s father noticed the arson and promptly put out the fire with a fire extinguisher.
The pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceedings was carried out by the investigators of the Police Department No. 1 of the Lviv District Police Department No. 1 of the Main Department of the National Police in the Lviv Region.
Note: in accordance with Art. 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until his guilt is proven in a legal manner and established by a court verdict.
