During a comprehensive investigation, the National Police of Ukraine are conducting searches in medical institutions across the country. This is due to suspicions of embezzlement of funds intended for patient treatment under medical guarantee programmes, as reported by MVS Lviv.
Estimates suggest that losses could amount to hundreds of millions of hryvnias. Police officers are documenting fictitious medical services and manipulations with data in the electronic health care system.
Investigators of the Chief Investigations Directorate and operatives from the Department of Strategic Investigations, along with regional units and prosecutors, supported by the Ministry of Health, are carrying out a range of measures to identify those involved in these activities.
The pre-trial investigation continues in view of the facts regarding embezzlement of property, abuse of power, forgery of office, as well as interference with the operation of automated systems.
