The National Police of Ukraine, in cooperation with German colleagues, exposed members of an international hacker group.
Law enforcement agencies from Ukraine and Germany identified two participants of a hacker group affiliated with Russia and conducted searches in Ukraine. The organizer of the group, which specializes in cyberattacks using ransomware, has been declared internationally wanted. This group has caused hundreds of millions of euros in damages to companies worldwide.
During the investigative actions, police conducted authorized searches at the places of residence of the persons involved in the Ivano-Frankivsk and Lviv regions. Evidence of illegal activities, including digital information carriers and cryptocurrency assets, was seized during the searches.
