The court upheld the claim of the Sambir District Prosecutor’s Office in Lviv Oblast to confiscate land from a Russian citizen in favor of the state.
The land in question is an agricultural plot located on the territory of the Starosambir territorial community of the Sambir district. Its total area is almost 0.2 hectares.
Prosecutors found that the Russian citizen received the above land under a sale and purchase agreement. However, having ignored the requirements of the land legislation of Ukraine, he failed to alienate the land within a year.
Responding to the violation, the prosecutor’s office defended the interests of the state in order to prevent illegal possession of Ukrainian land and filed a lawsuit, which was fully satisfied.
