The 27-year-old driver of the BMW X5, who caused a fatal accident, has been detained without the right to bail.
According to the Yavoriv District Prosecutor’s Office, the driver violated road safety rules by driving under the influence of alcohol, which led to the death of a passenger. “The driver left the roadway, causing the vehicle to overturn and submerge in water,” investigators report.
The suspect has been detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. He has been remanded in custody without the right to post bail. Investigative actions continue, and a series of forensic examinations have been appointed.
The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by investigators from the Yavoriv District Police Department and the Transport Crime Investigation Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Lviv region.
