
In Lviv, a road traffic accident occurred on Boichuka Street involving a drunk driver. The driver of a Renault collided with a parked Volkswagen. Patrol officers who arrived at the scene found signs of alcohol intoxication in the 64-year-old driver.
After testing with a Drager device, a blood alcohol level of 1.72 per mille was recorded. The driver was issued two citations: one for violating traffic rules leading to the accident, and another for driving under the influence.
In the first three months of this year in Lviv region, police issued 1,876 citations for drunk driving. As a result of such incidents, 28 accidents with injuries occurred, affecting 37 people. Ahead of Easter, the police urge planning a safe return home if consuming alcohol.
