In Ivano-Frankivsk, large-scale violations in the field of environmental protection have been revealed.
There are 13 criminal proceedings being investigated in the region related to crimes in the forest sector. The established damages amount to 36.7 million UAH, with 15 individuals being suspected. This involves cases of illegal logging and official negligence in issuing logging tickets.
“When we talk about illegal logging, it often sounds abstract. But behind each such case are specific trees, specific officials, and specific amounts of damage,”
– stated in the official statement. The largest episode is connected to the logging of 748 trees in the National Nature Park ‘Hutsulshchyna.’ Former employees of the SE ‘Kutske Forestry Enterprise’ have been suspected.
Among other proceedings are negligence in issuing tickets in the Kolomyia SALG, illegal logging in several forestry areas, and the transportation of logged timber. The cases involve former heads of state enterprises and individuals.
