Under the procedural guidance of the Frankiv District Prosecutor’s Office of the city of Lviv, a 39-year-old woman was notified of suspicion of fraud (part 3 of Article 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
According to the investigation, a resident of Lviv fraudulently took possession of the payments of internally displaced persons.
The woman provided false information to one of the social protection departments of the Department of Humanitarian Policy of the Lviv City Council on behalf of persons allegedly living in the occupied territory. Later, in the absence of legal grounds, she submitted applications for registration as internally displaced persons and receiving financial assistance.
Thanks to which the defendant illegally took possession of UAH 35,000 of budget funds.
Investigations are ongoing.
The pre-trial investigation is being carried out by investigators of the Lviv District Police Department No. 2 of the Main Department of the National Police in the Lviv Region, under the operational support of the Cybercrime Countermeasures Department in the Lviv Region.
Note: in accordance with Art. 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until his guilt is proven in a legal manner and established by a court verdict.
