Today we honor the memory of the defenders who were lost in January from 2014 to 2026.
Let’s remember the fallen soldiers who would have celebrated their birthdays in January:
A resident of Novoyavorivsk, defender of Ukraine, Ivan Sas. On January 3, the warrior would have turned 47. The hero died on August 15, 2024, during a combat mission in the Kursk region.
Novoyavorivsk resident, defender of Ukraine, Stepan Parykash. On January 4, the warrior would have turned 53. The fighter’s life was cut short on June 24, 2024, in Rivne region.
Resident of the village of Starychi, defender of Ukraine, Roman Rak. On January 11, he would have turned 52. The warrior’s life ended on March 13, 2022, during a rocket attack on the Yavoriv training ground.
A resident of Novoyavorivsk, senior rifleman of the 46th Separate Airborne Brigade, DShV Arthur Koval. On January 22, the defender would have turned 39. The hero died on January 25, 2024, while performing a combat mission in Donetsk (Mariinka).
A resident of Novoyavorivsk, defender of Ukraine, Ivan Kotelyak. On January 27, Ivan would have turned 37. The warrior’s life was prematurely cut short on December 15, 2022, due to the consequences of combat service.
Novoyavorivsk resident, soldier of the 71st OEB, defender of Ukraine, Pavlo Smalyuk. On January 27, Pavlo would have turned 38. The hero died on April 3, 2023, while performing a combat mission in Donetsk region.
Native of the village of Ivano-Frankove, defender of Ukraine, Arsen Rudchenko. On January 30, the defender would have turned 54. The warrior died in captivity of the occupier on August 12, 2023.
And we also remember those who were lost forever in January 2014-2026:
Native of the village of Shklo, volunteer, who dedicated many years of his life to service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Vitaliy Horokhov. The hero died on January 9, 2024, while performing a combat mission in Donetsk region.
Honorary citizen of the city of Novoyavorivsk, volunteer Viktor Sigaev. January 17 marks 11 years since Viktor’s heart stopped in the pursuit of a better fate for Ukraine. The hero died on January 17, 2015, in Donetsk.
Resident of the village of Starychi, soldier of the 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after King Danylo, Taras Kuts. He died on January 21, 2023, while defending the city of Bakhmut in Donetsk region.
A resident of Novoyavorivsk, defender of Ukraine, Mykhailo Brezitskyi. The warrior’s life ended on January 23, 2018.
Resident of the village of Muzhilovychi, ATO participant and defender of Ukraine, Yaroslav Motak. The fighter’s life ended on January 24, 2024, while performing a combat mission in Donetsk.
Native of the village of Pidluby, volunteer, warrior of the 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after King Danylo, Yaroslav Kryvanyo. The defender was captured on March 21, 2022, in the Luhansk direction. He died on January 24, 2024, as a result of an air crash.
A resident of Novoyavorivsk, warrior of the 63rd Separate Mechanized Brigade, Ilgar Abbasov. The defender died while defending Ukraine on January 27, 2023, in Donetsk.
Novoyavorivsk resident, volunteer, soldier of the 81st Separate Airborne Brigade, Serhiy Karabin. The hero died on January 29, 2015, in battles for the Donetsk airport.
For the sake of their bright memory, let us not lose faith in victory over the enemy!
