The traffic accident happened on November 15, around 5:00 p.m., on the Kyiv-Chop highway in the city of Busk, Zolochiv district.
As previously established by law enforcement officers, a collision took place between Dacia Logan, driven by a 74-year-old man from Lviv, and a Lexus LX 470 driven by a 50-year-old resident of the Rivne region.
As a result of the accident, the driver of the Dacia Logan was injured and, despite the efforts of doctors, died in intensive care. In addition, the passenger of the Dacia Logan, a 69-year-old woman from Lviv, and the passenger of the Lexus LX 470, a 49-year-old resident of the Rivne region, were injured and taken to the hospital.
According to the fact, the investigators of the Department of Investigation of Crimes in the Field of Transport of the Lviv Oblast Police opened criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Article 286 (Violation of Traffic Safety Rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a term of three to eight years with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a term of up to three years or without it.
An investigation is underway, law enforcement officers are establishing the circumstances of the incident.
