
An army officer in Lviv region has been detained for demanding 5,000 US dollars to transfer a cadet to a rear unit. According to investigators, a 37-year-old captain of a section in a military unit at the university attempted to influence the command’s decision to facilitate the distribution of a cadet to a rear unit. In the event of refusal, the officer threatened the subordinate with a transfer to combat units involved in military operations, as reported by SpecprokuraturaZahidRegion.
During a meeting to hand over the bribe, the serviceman received half of the agreed amount — 2,500 US dollars. Following this, he was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.
