Patrol Officers in Lviv Detain Intoxicated Driver After Accident

In Lviv, police quickly located the female driver who caused a traffic accident and left the scene on Subotivska Street. The culprit, driving a BMW X5, collided with a parked BMW 540 and then left the scene.

Patrol officers found the 35-year-old driver while surveying the surrounding streets. She showed signs of alcohol intoxication and agreed to be tested. The Dräger test showed a blood alcohol level of 1.37 per mille.

Three reports were issued against the driver: for violating traffic regulations, for leaving the scene, and for driving under the influence. In the first four months of this year, the police filed 2,512 reports under Article 130 of the Code of Administrative Offences for driving under the influence, and recorded 44 accidents involving 61 injuries due to similar driver actions.
