Just in October of this year, patrol officers issued 7,675 fines to drivers who failed to adhere to speed limits. The penalty under Article 122 (Exceeding Established Speed Limits) of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses includes: for exceeding the speed by more than 20 km/h — a fine of 340 hryvnias; by more than 50 km/h — a fine of 1,700 hryvnias. Speed continues to be among the leading causes of traffic accidents with injuries. To prevent this and reduce the number of accidents, patrol officers monitor speed daily in high-risk areas using the TruCAM device.
