On Saturday on Chornovola Avenue in Lviv, patrol officers spotted a Hyundai Elantra vehicle, whose driver violated traffic rules. After signaling to stop, the driver ignored the request and started to flee. On Mohylnytskoho Street, the fugitive abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot, discarding two zip bags containing what appeared to be narcotic substances.
An investigation team was called to the scene. Experts confiscated 116 packets of a powdery substance, preliminarily identified as MDMA. The detained individual was identified as a 31-year-old man with previous convictions for similar crimes.
The suspect was notified of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 307 (Illegal manufacturing, production, purchase, storage, transportation, shipment, or sale of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, or their analogues) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. He was detained in accordance with Article 208 (Detention by an authorized person) of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. A pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
