Under the procedural leadership of the Zhovkiv district prosecutor’s office, a resident of Lviv was exposed and notified of suspicion of illegal transportation of persons across the state border of Ukraine (Part 3 of Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
According to the investigation, the suspect contributed to the illegal crossing of the state border during martial law.
For a monetary reward, he promised to provide the conscript with fictitious documents, namely a forged pension certificate. The latter gave its holder the right to travel abroad without hindrance.
The suspect valued his services at $6,000.
The man was detained in accordance with Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine after receiving the funds.
Investigations are ongoing. Measures are being taken to identify other involved persons.
Currently, the prosecutor has sent a petition to the court to choose a preventive measure in the form of detention for the detainee.
The pre-trial investigation is carried out by investigators of police department No. 2 of the Lviv district police department No. 1 of the Main Department of the National Police in the Lviv region under the operational support of employees of the Department of Military Counterintelligence of the Security Service of Ukraine and a unit of the State Border Service of Ukraine.
Note: in accordance with Art. 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until his guilt is proven in a legal manner and established by a court verdict.
