Prosecutors of the Sambir District Prosecutor’s Office sent to court an indictment against a 19-year-old resident of the district. He is charged with facilitating the illegal transfer of persons across the state border of Ukraine (Part 2 of Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The investigation established that in May this year, the accused assisted in the illegal transfer of two persons of military age across the state border outside checkpoints.
To do this, the man, bypassing central roads and settlements, led the conscripts to the fenced border line. After that, the defendant pointed out the direction to cross the border with the Republic of Poland. However, the men were nevertheless detained by border guards.
The pre-trial investigation was carried out by investigators of the Police Department No. 2 of the Sambir District Police Department of the Main Department of the National Police in Lviv region, with the operational support of the 7th Border Guard Detachment of the Carpathian Border Guard Service of Ukraine
Note: Pursuant to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and shall not be subjected to criminal punishment until his or her guilt is proved by law and established by a court verdict of guilty.
