The Halytskyi District Court in Lviv has made a decision regarding the preventive measure for the suspect in the murder of Andriy Parubiy.
The suspect, a 52-year-old resident of Lviv, will be held in custody for 60 days without the right to bail. His actions are classified under the articles ‘premeditated murder’ and ‘illegal handling of weapons’ of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
To recall, on August 30 in Lviv, the suspect fired eight shots at a member of parliament, which led to his death. The next day, he was detained in the Khmelnytskyi region.
‘When shots ring out on the streets, it is a signal for the entire state. We are responding decisively so that every crime against human life receives the most severe legal assessment,’ said the head of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office Mykola Meret.
The pretrial investigation is ongoing.
