Under the procedural guidance of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office, an indictment against 5 members of the organized group was sent to the court. They are accused of secretly stealing someone else’s property (Part 5 of Article 185 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The investigation established that an organized group, which included residents of Lviv and Ternopil regions, committed a number of thefts.
The accused searched for potential “victims” on the streets of Lviv and got to know them. Having entered into trust, the participants invited the latter to a cafe under the pretext of celebrating their acquaintance.
There, they treated the victims to alcoholic drinks, to which medicine was secretly added.
The content of these drugs disturbed perception and negatively affected people’s consciousness. As a result, the latter could not resist.
After that, the accused stole their property: money, mobile phones and other valuables that they had with them.
It is documented that at least 6 people became their victims. The amount of the stolen goods is more than UAH 200,000.
The accused are currently in custody.
The pre-trial investigation was carried out by the investigators of the Investigative Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Lviv Region, operational support was carried out by the Criminal Investigation Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Lviv Region.
Note: in accordance with Art. 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until his guilt is proven in a legal manner and established by a court verdict.
