
An Entrepreneur to be Tried for Paving Stone Fraud in Lviv Region
Misappropriated funds totaling more than half a million hryvnias – an entrepreneur in the Lviv region will be tried for fraud. If convicted, he faces up to eight years in prison.
Case Details
As established by law enforcement officers, a 29-year-old entrepreneur from Boryslav promised a couple from Truskavets to sell paving stones and organize their installation. However, after receiving the funds, he failed to fulfill the terms of the agreement, and had no intention of doing so.
Thus, the accused misappropriated funds from the couple totaling almost 560 thousand hryvnias.
Investigation and Trial
Investigators of the Drohobych District Police Department, under the procedural guidance of the Drohobych District Prosecutor’s Office, completed the pre-trial investigation in a criminal proceeding opened under Part 4 of Art. 190 (Fraud) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The indictment has been submitted to court for consideration.
The article’s sanction provides for punishment – imprisonment for a term of three to eight years.
