Near the village of Zeliv in Yavoriv district, work is ongoing to extinguish a peat fire. Units of the State Emergency Service in Lviv region have been deployed with personnel and equipment to tackle the blaze.

Rescuers remind the public that human carelessness is often the cause of fires in natural ecosystems. Citizens are urged not to burn dry vegetation and rubbish, not to light campfires during periods of high fire risk, and not to discard unextinguished cigarette butts.
