Under the procedural supervision of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office, a citizen of Ukraine was served a notice of suspicion. He is charged with collaboration (Part 7 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
According to the investigation, in April 2022, a resident of Donetsk region went over to the side of the enemy and voluntarily joined an illegal law enforcement agency created by the occupation authorities of Russia.
In particular, the man took up the position of a rescuer of the Volnovakha fire and rescue unit of the so-called ‘ministry of civil defence, emergencies and disaster relief of the dpr’.
The special pre-trial investigation is being conducted by the investigators of the State Bureau of Investigations located in Lviv, with operational support provided by the SBU Office in Lviv region.
Note: Pursuant to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and shall not be subjected to criminal punishment until his or her guilt is proved by law and established by a court verdict of guilty.
