A Pole hit three Ukrainian drivers at a pedestrian crossing near the blocked Rava-Ruska highway

At the still blocked Rava-Ruska checkpoint on the border between Poland and Ukraine, an extraordinary event took place – it is reported that a Polish driver hit three Ukrainian drivers at a pedestrian crossing.

Journalist Yevhen Plinsky reported this on his Facebook page. He also posted a video from the scene (Warning! The video contains profanity).

The video shows how people gathered near the accident site. Some of them are Ukrainian drivers. Some threaten to “block the whole city with trucks” in response to the Pole’s inappropriate behavior.

The video also shows that Polish police and an ambulance arrived at the scene. Whether the driver who caused the accident was a participant in the protest action at the border is not yet known reliably.

In addition, there was information that the Poles’ rally was paid for. “By the way, Polish protestors from Rafal Mekler’s party admitted that they receive 400 zlotys (about UAH 3,700 – Ed.) per day for blocking the border,” Plinsky added.

Earlier on December 14, the local authorities in Dorohusk did not allow Polish carriers to start a new blockade of the border with Ukraine. The checkpoint “Yagodin – Dorogusk” has been unblocked since December 11, because the mayor revoked the permission for the protest. However, on Wednesday, December 13, the strikers announced their intention to close the entrance to the border for trucks again, but they did not succeed.

Against the background of the change of government in Poland, it is expected that similar decisions will be made by other representatives of local authorities. In this case, the checkpoint “Rava-Ruska – Hrebinne” can also be unlocked.
