Community Police Officers Summarized Half-Year Work

Captain of Sheptytsky District Police Department, Yevhen Brodyuk, summarized the work of community police officers for the first half of 2025.

“During this period, community police officers identified 603 administrative offenses,” reported Yevhen Brodyuk. Of these, 354 were related to traffic law violations. In the field of public safety, about 84 administrative offenses were detected, including minor hooliganism, cases of domestic violence, illegal possession of narcotics, violation of administrative supervision, selling excise goods without the appropriate documents, theft, and violations of weapon registration rules. Administrative penalties were imposed for the offenses, collectively supplementing the state budget by approximately 390,000 UAH.

Overall, in half a year, community police officers reviewed 1,084 appeals and citizen reports, including written applications and verbal inquiries. In addition, CPOs monitor individuals on record, particularly those with previous convictions; individuals who committed domestic violence; and firearm owners.

Yevhen Brodyuk also noted that community police officers regularly patrol a checkpoint in the village of Tudorkovychi and daily work on identifying persons who are wanted, evade mobilization, have deserted military units, or violated military registration rules.

To ensure public order, community police officers cooperate with probation authorities, the State Emergency Service, and registered civic formations in the city. CPOs also conduct preventive work to prevent crime and actively work on clarifying security issues among the population, especially with pupils and students.
