A 23-year-old resident of the city of Kramatorsk, who temporarily lives in the Lviv region, stole money from the house of a local resident, after which he hid in a new building near the scene of the crime.
On June 19, around 11:30 a.m., a resident of one of the villages of the Stryi district contacted the police and reported that unknown persons had stolen money from her house.
The investigative and operative group and other employees of police department No. 2 of the Stryi district police department worked at the scene of the incident. As the law enforcement officers established, an unknown person broke into the victim’s house and stole cash in the amount of 53,000 hryvnias and 200 US dollars.
After carrying out operational and search measures, the criminal police operatives soon discovered the intruder involved in the theft, on the territory of a new building near the place of the crime, where he was hiding. Physical evidence was taken from him.
The perpetrator, a 23-year-old resident of the city of Kramatorsk, who temporarily lives in the Lviv region, was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. Soon the court will choose a preventive measure for him.
Investigators opened criminal proceedings under Part 4 of Article 185 (Theft) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a term of five to eight years.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
