The victim was stabbed in the chest and was hospitalized.
On September 20, around 12:00, the police received a report that an unknown man with a knife attacked a passerby on Sheptytskyi Street in Lviv.
Soon after, patrolling policemen found a man involved in the offense on one of the nearby streets and detained him.
The investigative and operative group of the Lviv District Police Department No. 1 worked at the scene of the incident. As the law enforcement officers established, the intruder stabbed a 32-year-old man from Lviv in the chest with a knife, after which he ran away.
The injured man was hospitalized.
The police established the identity of the attacker, a 41-year-old local resident, and detained him in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.
The investigators, under the procedural guidance of the Galician District Prosecutor’s Office, informed the detainee of the suspicion of committing a criminal offense provided for in Part 4 of Article 296 (Hooliganism committed with the use of firearms or cold weapons or other objects specially adapted or prepared in advance for inflicting bodily harm) of the Criminal Code Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a term of three to seven years.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
