A 22-year-old local resident died at the scene of the injuries sustained as a result of the collision
The traffic accident occurred on October 24, around 8:00 p.m., on the Kovel-Chervonograd-Zhovkva highway in the village of Turinka, Lviv district.
As previously established by law enforcement officers, the driver of the Peugeot Partner car, a 29-year-old resident of Chervonograd, hit a pedestrian, a 22-year-old local woman.
The woman died at the scene of the injuries she received as a result of the accident.
The driver was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine, the court will soon choose a preventive measure for him.
According to the fact, the investigators of the Department of Investigation of Crimes in the Field of Transport of the Lviv Oblast Police opened criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Article 286 (Violation of Traffic Safety Rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a period of three to eight years with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a period of up to three years or without it.
Law enforcement officers are establishing the circumstances of the incident.
