The police of Lviv region have initiated criminal proceedings against a woman who insulted residents of the western regions and military personnel.
On October 26, during social media monitoring, police discovered a post where the author demeaned the Ukrainian Armed Forces servicemen and residents of the western regions of Ukraine. Law enforcement established that it was a 24-year-old resident of the Dnipropetrovsk region temporarily living in Lviv.
Investigators from police department No. 1 of the Lviv district administration, under the procedural guidance of the Frankivsk district prosecutor’s office, have initiated criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 161 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum punishment is up to three years of imprisonment with the deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to three years.
Pre-trial investigation is underway, and the issue of notifying the suspect about the criminal charges is being addressed.
