In the Lviv district, police have detained a man suspected of murdering an acquaintance.
On July 24, around 17:00, police received a report of a man’s body discovered with signs of violent death in one of the villages in the Lviv district. An investigative-operational group and other police services, as well as forensic specialists, worked at the scene.
As law enforcement officers established, a sudden conflict arose between an 80-year-old homeowner and his 66-year-old guest, during which the guest brutally beat the homeowner, leading to his death. Police detained the perpetrator under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.
Investigators, under the procedural guidance of the Pustomyty district prosecutor’s office, informed the detainee of the suspicion of committing a criminal offense under Part 1 of Article 115 (Intentional murder) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The article’s sanction provides for a punishment of imprisonment from seven to fifteen years. The pre-trial investigation continues.
