Lviv Police Hold Men Accountable for Threatening Children

Incident at Levandivka Lake: Men Threatened Children

In Lviv, police have held men accountable who threatened children. When minors asked the men, who were illegally fishing, to release the caught carp back into the lake, the offenders responded with obscene language and threatened to pull out a gun and shoot them or drown them in the lake.

Police Actions

On May 4, around 16:40, police received a report from a Lviv resident that unknown individuals were threatening children at Levandivka Lake. A response team and other officers from Department No. 1 of Lviv District Police No. 2 promptly arrived at the scene.

Police identified the “fishermen” as men aged 41 and 46 who were temporarily residing in Lviv. No weapons or illegally caught fish were found at the scene.

Punishment

Administrative protocols have been drawn up against the offenders under Article 173 (Petty Hooliganism) of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses. The article sanctions a fine of three to seven non-taxable minimum incomes, community service for 40 to 60 hours, corrective labor for one to two months with a twenty percent deduction of earnings, or administrative arrest for up to fifteen days.
