The Lviv police have found a driver who hit an elderly woman and fled the scene.
The traffic accident occurred on September 22 on Pasichna Street in Lviv. An unknown driver in an unidentified vehicle struck a 79-year-old Lviv woman and disappeared. As a result of the accident, the woman sustained injuries and was hospitalized.
Law enforcement established that the hit-and-run was carried out by a 21-year-old Lviv resident driving a Renault Master. Police located the driver and the vehicle was seized and taken to a special impound lot.
A criminal case has been opened under part 1 of article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty is up to three years of imprisonment with a revocation of the right to drive vehicles for the same duration.
“Anyone with information that may help establish the circumstances of this traffic accident is asked to contact the 102 hotline,” law enforcement authorities appeal.
