In Lviv, the police have launched a criminal investigation into the assault of a woman on a tram.
Today, during the monitoring of social networks, law enforcement officers discovered a publication about a woman’s assault by a minor during a public transport trip. As established by the police, the incident occurred on November 8, around 21:25, in tram number 8. During a suddenly arisen conflict, the passenger struck the victim several times in the face with his fist and then fled.
Based on this fact, investigators from police department No.2 of the Lviv district police department No.2 opened a criminal investigation under Part 1 of Article 125 (‘Intentional Minor Injury’) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The article provides for punishment in the form of a fine of up to fifty tax-free minimum incomes or community service for up to two hundred hours, or corrective labor for up to one year.
A pre-trial investigation is being conducted, and a forensic medical examination has been appointed.
