The Sambor police are investigating the arson of the House of Sorrow that took place on August 26.
The fire damaged the building’s entrance doors, but no one was injured. The incident occurred on the territory of the local cemetery on Peremyshlska Street. An investigative team, rescuers, and experts worked at the scene. The cause of the fire might have been arson.
According to law enforcement, “a criminal proceeding has been initiated under Part 2 of Article 194 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.” The article’s sanction provides for imprisonment from three to ten years. The police are determining the circumstances of the event and the identity of the perpetrator.
