Lviv police are appealing to the public for assistance in investigating a fatal traffic accident.
On February 14th, around 6:30 PM, a tragedy occurred on Ryashivska Street in Lviv. A 20-year-old driver from the Lviv district, driving a BMW X1, struck a 76-year-old woman crossing the road. After the collision, the driver fled the scene. The woman sustained serious injuries and was hospitalized, but unfortunately, she passed away.
Investigators have opened a criminal case under part 2 of article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which provides for imprisonment of up to three years. It also permits the possibility of revoking the driver’s license for up to three years.
“Anyone with information that could help establish the circumstances of this accident is asked to call 102,” the authorities urge.
