A young man has been detained in the Lviv region on suspicion of illegally seizing a motor vehicle. According to the police, he allegedly stole a Daewoo Lanos car left on the roadside in a village in the Sambir district.
Detectives, investigators, and patrol officers joined the search and recovery efforts, leading to the vehicle being found the same day in Staryi Sambir. The car had damage indicating a collision with a barrier.
Officers from the Sambir district police swiftly located the suspect, identified as a 22-year-old local resident. Following his arrest under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine, charges were brought against him.
According to the Sambir District Prosecutor’s Office, the pre-trial investigation is ongoing. The suspect has been placed under 24-hour house arrest as a preventive measure.
