On June 20, 2025, Ukrainian authorities apprehended a high-ranking officer from the Territorial Office of the Judicial Protection Service in Lviv region. He had allegedly accepted a bribe scheme involving a promise to place a candidate first in the police force, and then within his own agency, in return for $4,000. They intercepted $3,000 during the transaction. The arrest was carried out by the Department of Internal Security of the National Police together with investigators from the State Bureau of Investigations and overseen by the Office of the Prosecutor General.
He is charged under Part 3 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, carrying a maximum sentence of up to 10 years. The investigation is ongoing.
